Q-switched Nd:YAG lasers are the go-to devices for removing tattoos and treating pigmented lesions such as freckles, age spots and nevus of Ota.
The Photo-acoustic Effect
A Q-switched laser radiates light at a specific wavelength in an extremely high peak-energy pulse lasting only nanoseconds. Because the pulse is so short, the light penetrates the tissue only for an ultra-short instant. The pigment absorbs the energy and undergoes an instantaneous "blast", fragmenting into particles small enough for the body to clear naturally.
Dual Wavelengths
Most Q-switched systems offer both 1064 nm (for deeper, darker pigment and black/blue ink) and 532 nm (for superficial and red/brown pigment), covering a broad range of indications from one platform.
Choosing a Platform
Look for stable energy output, a comfortable and portable design, and a range of spot sizes so you can tailor fluence to each lesion. Our Q-switched Nd:YAG range spans compact clinic units to higher-capacity systems.
